Sanger, CA – Fresno-Kings Unit of CAL FIRE is planning to conduct two prescribed burns in Fresno County – one in in the Miramonte area and one along Jose Basin Road near Auberry. The purpose of this project is to use prescribed fire to reduce wildland fire fuels within the community fuel break, protect the community from wildfire, and reintroduce the ecological benefits of fire to the landscape. This type of exercise will also provide valuable hands-on training for fire firefighting personnel.

Weather conditions will be monitored and burning may be postponed if burning conditions are found to be unfavorable.
